Mission Valley ROP serves high school and adult students by providing quality and cost-effective career preparation. Mission Valley ROP offers state of the art classroom instruction, internship experiences, and leadership development resulting in employment, career advancement, and preparation for post secondary training.
With the start of the 2007-2008-school session, Mission Valley ROP moved into their new building next to the Kennedy High School campus.  ROP classes are being held at the new site, with many others offered on the Kennedy Campus.   Kennedy students will no longer have to take a bus to attend ROP classes held at the center.

Classes offered either 7:20-9:20 am, Blocks 2 & 3, or 12:45-
2:45 pm, Mon-Fri (check with your counselor for availability)
Advanced Video (TAME) Gain an understanding and practical experience in the creation of video productions using EFP (electronics field production), and television techniques.
Auto Body Painting and Refinishing 1 & 2 (TIBB/TIBF) Bodywork, MIG welding, custom painting.
Automotive Technology 1&2 / NATEF & AYES Certified (TITB/TITF) General auto repair, brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, engine performance will be taught.
Beginning Video (TAMA) Gain an understanding and practical experience in the creation of video productions using EFP (electronics field production), and television techniques.
Computer Animation (TANB) Video, web, TV/film animation 2D, 3D video; Adobe After Effects, Macromedia Flash, timelines, key frames, layers, interactivity; virtual video backgrounds, titling, animated elements, special effects.
Computer Graphic Design 1 & 2 (TAGB/TAGF) Create newsletters, articles, mailers, posters. Adobe InDesign; Illustrator, Photoshop; Flash, DreamWeaver, retouch photographs; create original print, web, animation, video; portraits, posters; large-image plotters, printers.
Computer Operations (TZHA) This class is designed to improve office and business skills and to teach the latest skills and file management techniques used in offices today.
Construction Technology 1 & 2 (TICB/TICF) Train for jobs in construction; course includes fundamentals of carpentry, electrical, plumbing; power tool use and safety. High school Math credit is available.
Cosmetology (TXHC) 3-Hour Class, plus Saturdays; Location: Fremont Beauty College; Credit: 30 units per year. Students gain practical and theoretical skills required to pass the California Cosmetology Examination. In addition to hair styling and care of skin and nails, instruction includes business practices and procedures used in beauty salons.  Saturday classes required.  Students must provide their own transportation.  Students must meet with Ms Viera @ Fremont Beauty College (797-7318) for an orientation before enrolling.  (Twelfth grade students only.) 
Culinary Arts-Pastry 1 & 2 (TIUA/TIUE) This competency-based course is geared towards California Restaurant Association and American Culinary Federation accreditations in preparing students for entry and mid-level positions in the restaurant baking and food service industry.
Developmental Psychology / Careers in Education 1 & 2 (TPCB/TPCF) Learn to working with children, gain knowledge of child growth, development. Ohlone and Chabot College credit is available.
Digital Photography 1 & 2 (TACP/TALP) This class is designed to give students a solid grounding in digital photographic essentials focusing on the power of contemporary software tools such as Adobe PhotoShop.
Digital Sound Design 1 & 2 (TAKB/TAKF) Learn microphones, audio mixers, sound systems, digital audio recording tools; create original recordings, sound effects, synthesizers, Adobe Audition, Cakewalk Sonar, Digital Storytelling, Radio Theater.
Fashion Merchandising 1 & 2 (TMFB/TMFF) Prepares students for careers in fashion industry; develop skills buying, fashion design, merchandising, promotion, and manufacturing. 20 units of credit per year are possible on internships. Student fashion show is part of the curriculum. 6 units FIDM credit.
Fire Science/EMT (TPBB) EMTs provide routine and emergency medical care with an ambulance service or fire department, as well as hospitals and clinics. The program will prepare you to identify and manage the basic care of victims of trauma and sudden illness (Twelfth grade students only.)
 
Fire Science / First Responder (TPAB) Firefighting tactics, strategies, hazardous materials, fire safety, tools and equipment, fire prevention, fire protection systems, pump operation, auto extraction, fire control, arson detection. .  (Eleventh grade students only.) 
Forensic Science/Crime Scene Investigation 1, 2 (TPFB/TPFF) Crime scene analysis, physical/chemical analysis, microscopy, chromatography, hair/fiber/glass analysis, fingerprint comparison, comparative analysis, document analysis, firearms, drugs/toxicology, entomology, anthropology, blood (serology) and DNA analysis. UC “d” credit is pending.
Interior Design 1 & 2 (TMIB/TMIF) Create interior designs, basic principles, elements of design, space planning, color, textiles, furniture and lighting; career and post-secondary preparation; drafting, CAD. Internships; 20 units extra credit is available.
Manicurist (TXNC) 3-Hour Class, plus Saturdays; Location: Fremont Beauty College; Credit: 30 units per year. Theory and practical skills needed to pass the California Manicurist Examination. Manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, wraps, floaters and extensions, as well as nail painting and decorating. Saturday classes required.  Students must provide their own transportation.  Students must meet with Ms Viera @ Fremont Beauty College (797-7318) for an orientation before enrolling.  (Twelfth grade students only.)
Marketing 1/DECA & 2/DECA (TMMB/TMMF) Students completing the Marketing Program will have developed the ksills for and entry-level position in the marketing field or for further education leading to a career in business.
Medical Assisting (THAB) Learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical law and ethics, secretarial and clinical assisting skills; internship at health care facility. Chabot College credit is available.
MicroSoft Office (TZJA) Computer fundamentals, MS Windows, basic file management, and an introduction to Key Applications in the Windows environment. (Aligned with IC3 Certification standards in preparation for IC3 Certification Exams) 
Nursing Assistant (THNB) Medical terminology, CPR, first aid, personal patient care, food and nutrition, safety principles, infection control, body mechanics and vital signs. Internship at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities is available.
Pharmacy Clerk 1, 2 (THYB/THYF) Career prep for entry-level in pharmaceutical field; stocking and supplies, labeling drugs and chemicals, delivering drugs, sterilizing containers other duties under direction of pharmacist.
Sports Therapy 1 & 2 (THSB/THSF) Fitness, physical therapy, athletic training; anatomy, physiology, musculoskeletal system, prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, first aid, CPR, nutrition, 2+2 Ohlone College.
Veterinary Assistant (THVB) Terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, laboratory techniques, animal restraint, veterinary nursing, grooming, front office skills and basic work skills.
