Dear Parents/Guardians:
We will be opening up a new Kennedy page soon.  We are excited to not only report we are off to a solid start this year, but that we will be using this uniform school district platform for communication.  We thank our supporters for making this possible.
Kennedy has been engaged in many ongoing projects this fall.  We opened a student store in room 226 and it has done well in the first weeks of school.  Fund raising for multiple projects at Kennedy have been strong this fall so far.  The renovation of the amphitheater area is still high on the priority list of things we would like to see changed for the better at the campus.  We have just under 25 thousand dollars and are continually looking for donors and ways to raise funds in order to begin work.  I know this will take time, but it is worth it.  Titans deserve this remodel.  The dining facility is scheduled to open for use sometime around the new year.  This new facility will add a needed dimension to the functionality of the campus for students and programs.  We are excited to have this new building completed.
We have a new egroup at the school that I would like to invite any and all to join.  It is called TitanTalk and is a Yahoo mail group.  You can go to Yahoo Groups and search for "titantalk" and then click on that name.  From there you can join and receive emails highlighting school calendar events that you may have missed on other calendar publications.  Please join titantalk to get informed.
A John F. Kennedy grant application for a California Partnership Academy was submitted the first week in October.  A group of dedicated staff members headed up by Dr. Halbe and Jeanmarie Dollard pulled everything together to be in competition for this funding award.  Kennedy would not have been able to submit if it was not for a dedicated staff looking for ways to further develop exciting opportunities for learning.  Our focus will continue to be on developing programing around "green technologies."  Kennedy knows the more students learn now about what they will face in the future is probably a good plan.  Hopefully all this work will pay off in a funding for our school.
Leadership classes are as busy as ever with Mr. Eric Cunningham as the new advisor.  He has done an excellent job focusing students on building a positive student-centered culture.  Thank you ASB for all you do.

Go Titans!!
Sincerely,

Thomas Hanson
