NATIONAL HISPANIC COLLEGE FAIR 

The National Hispanic College Fairs would like to extend a special invitation to high school seniors to participation the Fall College an Career Fair on Thursday, December 11, 2008 @ Independence High School, San Jose, CA between the hours of 9:30 and 12:30 PM. The National Hispanic College Fairs and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund have joined forces to provide Latino/Hispanic high school seniors across the United States and opportunity to receive vital higher education information and at the same time offer scholarship money for their post high school education.  www.ccnhcfcollegefairs.com 

 NATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS AUDITIONS 

The Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Performing & Visual Arts is holding auditions for College from across the nation.  Auditions will be in the areas of Dance, Theatre, and Technical Theatre.  Auditions will be held in the “Unified” style on Saturday, November 1 and Callbacks will be on Sunday, November 2, 2008.  This is a “One-Stop” audition process.  Identify colleges (or have them identify YOU) that may NOT have been on your original college list.  Save time, travel and money in the audition process.  For more information and/or to register online go to www.ccsd.net/lynpaa

CITY YEAR SAN JOSE/SILICON VALLEY VISITOR’S PROGRAM 

City Year is a 10-month fulltime service program that challenges 17-24 years olds to strengthen and build community.  Our corps of members work 45-60 hours a week, collectively providing more than 100,000 hours of service throughout 10 months, while serving in under-served schools, community centers, and running weekend service learning initiative for youth. City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps and was, in fact, a model for AmeriCorps. City Year works to build stronger communities, a stronger country, and a better world through service. Every small task at City Year is part of this ambitious mission.MONEY FOR HIGHER EDUCATION* At the end of your commitment, you will receive an education award of $4,725 through AmeriCorps. You can apply the award towards a college degree, graduate school, or existing or future qualified student loans.
